Background

Mr. Day was born in East Orange, New Jersey on August 12, 1947. He was admitted to the bar in New Jersey and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey in 1972. In April, 2000, he had the privilege of being admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.

Education

Mr. Day attended Lafayette College and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. He then attended Southern Methodist University, School of Law, graduating in 1972 with a Juris Doctorate.

Accomplishments

Mr. Day was the recipient of the Barristers Award for the Best Moot Court Brief Award while in law school. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for Warren County Legal Services, Inc. (1978-1995) and as its President (1987-1992). Mr. Day was a member of the Belvidere Board of Education (1979-1983) and served as its Vice-President. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Warren County Guidance Center (1986-1991), and as its President (1987-1990). He was elected Mayor of the Town of Belvidere in 1991 and served in that capacity for two terms. He has served as the Municipal Attorney for the Town of Belvidere, New Jersey. He is a panelist for the Warren County Early Settlement Program, Family Matters. He has been a member of the Warren County, New Jersey, and American Bar Associations, having served as the President of the Warren County Bar (1990-1991). He is a member of the Belvidere Lions Club, currently serving as the club's secretary. He is a Senior Adjunct Faculty Member at Warren County Community College where he teaches in the Legal Studies program.
